Andros is a true paradise for hiking enthusiasts, offering over 25 amazing routes. With around 300 kilometres of mountain trails, Andros has been certified by the European Confederation of Hiking Clubs since 2015, making it the only island in Europe with this honourable distinction!

Along these trails, visitors enjoy stunning views from the island's mountain peaks, rivers, waterfalls, bridges, water mills, springs, monasteries and hundreds of chapels. These routes reward all those who choose to discover the richness of Andros' nature.

Chora - Ypsilou - Mesathouri - Lamira - Menites - Messaria - Panachrantou Monastery
A beautiful route to explore the green picturesque villages around Chora ending at the Castle-Monastery of Pahachrantou at the second highest mountain range of Andros, Gerakonas. Well-crafted stone paved path, impressive dry stone walls and buildings, bridges, numerous springs and churches, the arched bridge of Stoicheiomeni (the Haunted) and the Monastery are some of the attractions.

Chora - Apoikia - Katakalaioi - Vourkoti (With Pythara waterfalls detour)
A typical route of Andros with rich vegetation and terrain connects Apoikia with the most remote rural mountain villages of Andros, Katakalaioi and Vourkoti. Beautiful cobbled parts, water abundance, magnificent views and impressive changes of scenery.

Chora - Syneti - Dipotamata - Epano Kastro - Kochylou - Ormos Korthiou
The Hiking trail 3 is a route of great variety and wealth of rural landscapes connecting central with south Andros. The sharp relief, the picturesque villages, the famous Dipotamata ravine and valley with the numerous impressive water mills, the arched bridge and the Castle of Faneromeni are just some of the many attractions.

Vourkoti - Monastery of St. Nicholas - Achla Beach
Τhe Hiking trail 6 is a beautiful green route that starts from Vourkoti village and extends parallel to the largest flowing river of Andros, Achla, to the homonymous beach and the important wetland. On the way you will find well-built rural lodges (cells), small waterfalls, natural pedestals, the arched bridge of Achla, the beautiful natural lake Gerolimni with the beautiful waterfall formed by the waters of the homonymous river, the old monastery of Saint Nicholas and one of the most beautiful beaches of Andros, Achla.

Apoikia - Apatouria - Stenies - Gialia - Neimporio
The Hiking trail 8 - 8a is a beautiful circular route with lush vegetation, passing through major settlements of seamanship and rural Andros, parallel to Pythara ravine. Remarkable diversity of scenery and important monuments.

Strapouries - Ano Pitrofos - Palaiopolis - Ano Aprovatou
The Hiking trail 9 is a branch of the so-called “Ample Way” (“Fardia Strata” or “Arvanitikos Dromos”), one of the longest and most significant routes on the island, which connects Central and East Andros with the North and Southern parts traversing mountain Petalo. A route typical of the diversity of the natural and man-made landscape of Andros.

Batsi - Katakoilos - Ano Katakoilos - Arni
Hiking Trail 11 is one of the largest and most enchanting routes of Andros, which starts from Batsi, ascending on the highest mountain range of Andros Petalo and descending to the green valley of Arni. The view from the top of the mountain is magnificent and there is lush vegetation and plenty of water along the way.
